Facial Rejuvenation

Facial Acupuncture

Andrea has studied different styles of Facial Rejuvenation, and mainly utilizes the protocol from the Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System.

Very small needles are inserted into specific acupuncture points on the face; points on the body are also selected, after evaluating the client’s current symptoms, pulse and tongue presentation.

Qi and blood circulation to the face are increased, which may subsequently increase collagen and elastin, supportive proteins in the skin. This can improve facial moisture, muscle tone and elasticity.

Combining facial and body points assists in balancing and harmonizing the client’s energy; body-mind-spirit relaxes and rejuvenates.

Reported benefits of Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture include:

  • Diminishing effect on deeper wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Improved muscle tone and firmer jaw line.
  • Moisturized and softer skin; improvement in rosacea, acne and skin tone.

Non-invasive acupuncture is an alternative to plastic surgery.  The usual protocol consists of 2 weekly treatments for 5 weeks, for a total of 10 treatments.  This protocol can be repeated for a second series, as well as a maintenance series after 6 to 9 months.  A subsequent series of 10 treatments focusing on the neck is also offered.

NCCAOM, the National Certification Board for Acupuncture, recognizes the emerging sub-specialty of Cosmetic Acupuncture as a valuable technique for enhancing overall health.
